Brent has been Chief Executive of Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) since July 2007 where he was appointed to take on the responsibility of leading the industry in all aspects related to its governance, commercial and strategy development. Together with maintaining GRNSW’s external relationships with other racing and wagering bodies, he also oversees the management of the organisation and is the spokesperson for GRNSW on major issues. Having guided the industry through the devastating financial impact of the EI crisis he has more recently overseen the implementation of a new metropolitan racing policy resulting in a single race club conducting metropolitan racing and the delivery of a 33% prizemoney increase for the sport over the past year. He has been a leader in all facets of negotiations to do with the Race Fields Legislation, Alan Cameron’s review of wagering in NSW and from July 2009 has taken up the position as Chief Executive of the ‘new’ GRNSW which now also has responsibility for the control and regulation of the sport together with its commercial affairs. Recently Brent has been instrumental in implementing the sports most comprehensive drug detection policy, built a brand new leadership team that manages all aspects of the code’s integrity and provided the catalyst for GRNSW to build new partnerships to grow the sport both nationally and internationally. Brent holds a Bachelor of Law and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in human resource management / industrial relations. Brent is the Executive Chairman of Greyhound Media Services Pty Ltd, a Director of NSW Racing Pty Ltd and a Director of Greyhounds Australasia Ltd.
