Construction site and elevated tracks section of The Shenzhen Metro line 3, inter-city rail link from Shenzhen to Guangzhou, and visit Guangzhou South Railway Station

The Shenzhen Metro line 3’s chief engineer and operation team will show us the special skytrain sections
on the metro and the semi-underground station (Tong Hang Station). Then take the inter-city rail train/ or coach to Guangzhou to visit the operation control areas at Guangzhou South Railway Station, guided by Guangzhou Railway Group.

Description

Shenzhen Metro Line 3 has a total length of 42km and a total of 30 stations, including 14 underground stations, 1 semi-underground station, and 15 elevated stations. The total investment has already reached CNY 11bn. Delegates will have to chance to experience the network before it is officially operating. The engineer in charge will also explain how the company overcame the difficulties of building the skytrain section, and reasons for building the semi-underground stations. The chief engineer will also explaining how its underground station would be benefit from its mix-use design, which include commercial space for shopping areas and office rental.

Guangzhou South Railway Station is located at the heart of the Pearl River Delta region. This comprehensive multi-modal transportation infrastructure will serve a catchment area of over 300 million people. It is part of China’s new high speed rail network that incorporates four new major transportation hubs including Guangzhou South Station and Beijing South Station. Designed for a daily turnover of 300,000 passengers (by 2030), delegates will be explained how the construction process was planned and what difficulties have they encountered and overcome.
