Based in the Beijing office of Covington & Burling LLP, Eric Carlson advises clients on a range of compliance issues arising under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He has counseled clients on proposed transactions, helped companies to update and strengthen their internal FCPA compliance programs and controls, developed tailored training programs, represented clients before enforcement authorities, and led numerous internal FCPA investigations in China and around the world. He is a regular speaker at FCPA and anti-corruption compliance conferences.

He also advises multinational clients on pharmaceutical regulatory issues and on the application of U.S. export controls laws and U.S. sanctions programs. Mr. Carlson speaks Mandarin, Cantonese, and English, and is admitted to practice before the California and District of Columbia bars.
