Dr. P.C. Sehgal, Managing Director, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation, passed out his Bachelor of Science (Engineering Electrical) from Punjab University in 1973 by securing first position. After working for two years as Lecturer in the same college, joined Western Railway as Assistant Electrical Engineer in 1975.
During the Railway career, mainly looked after Operation, Maintenance of local trains of Western Railway. Also worked as Senior Divisional Personnel Officer/Mumbai Central, Additional Divisional Railway Manager/Vadodara, Divisional Railway Manager/Rajkot, for a total period of 10 years where overall functioning of all the departments was looked after. Worked as Chief Electrical Engineer, Chittaranjan Locomotive, and was responsible in bringing the latest 3 phase Traction Technology to India. While working in Mumbai, he was responsible for introduction of 12 car rakes and Auxiliary warning system.
Lakthan obtained his Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering from Chulalongkorn University. He started his carry in petrochemical and petroleum refining industry. He has 15 years experience in electrical equipment and system including power generation and distribution system for petrochemical plant and petroleum refinery.
Presently, working as Managing Director, Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation and is responsible for creation of necessary Railways infrastructure in suburban section of Western & Central Railways and introduction of new trains with latest ‘State-of-art’ 3 phase traction technology having various good features with a prime objective to reduce the passenger loading from 5000 per 9 Car rake to 3000.
Apart from above, Dr. Sehgal has authored many papers and written technical books on the topics of Maintenance of EMU rakes.
