Research topics
During the years 1983-2000, my research concerned mainly about maintenance and reliability related engineering design in the field of lubrication in industrial environments, particularly grease lubrication of rail way wagon bearings.
During the years 2000-2006, my research concerned mainly about participatory ergonomics and modern tools for effective industrial design in industrial environments.
Today, my research involves operation and maintenance engineering.
To conclude, my research topics cover both technical and human aspects and are always closely related to industrial problems.
Mr. Parker’s public finance experience includes devising and implementing the finance package for the $1.3-billion Miami Intermodal Center, the largest intermodal complex in the U.S. involving roadway and interchange improvements, a MetroRail Extension, a 6,000-car consolidated rental car facility, a new Central Railway Station, and an automated peoplemover connection to Miami International Airport.
Other activities
In addition I am the head of a multidisciplinary research school with 12 PhD students from a large variety of research fields at the university, and have developed the multidisciplinary education program Arena MMT. My former role as research leader of LTU Designlab is to support and coordinate research and cooperation between the industry and the academy and research at the department of Human Work Sciences. This research involves areas as visualization, perception, organization research, genus, human-machine interaction, sound and vibration, industrial work environment, ergonomics, technical psychology and industrial design.
My teaching was during 1987-2000 focused on machine element and engineering design. Today it is focused on machine engineering design with special aspects on maintenance and reliability aspects. I was also at the year 2001, nominated the price to the best teacher at the Luleå University of Technology
